What do we need in order to scribe at your event?

Have you ever heard of a ‘vibe check’? In slang terms, it basically means to check the energy or atmosphere of a person or situation (in our case, in a positive and constructive way). We always offer a 30 minute (or more if you need it) chat prior to coming to scribe at your event.…

Part of our job as live illustrators is to ‘read the room‘ as well as capturing what comes up in conversation. The best scribes happen when we are as prepared as we possibly can be, because we know the vibe of the drawing that you want us to produce.

We don’t shy away from being given creative freedom when it comes to taking visual minutes, but we want you to get the best out of our illustrators and get the best possible results from the artwork we produce on the day.

It normally only takes a 30 minute online chat plus a follow up email from you (sent to us a week or more before your event) that includes:

  • the agenda for the event
  • any logos we need to use
  • your preferred colour scheme(s)
  • any specific requirements (e.g. multiple images) – we’re very happy to discuss this with you and accommodate as much as we can
  • any other info you think might help us to prepare

As well as this, we’ll also discuss the logistics of us being online or in the room, and what we’ll need. We usually come and scribe in person and we’ll ask you for:

  • Our own table and chair
  • Access to a power point (we have our own PAT tested extension lead, if required)
  • Space for our easel (if you want a physical scribe)
  • Somewhere to pop a video camera
  • Chat with a technician (preferably prior to the event) if you want to show our work on the big screen (connecting to projectors and / or streaming in from a remote location)
  • Unloading and parking instructions

We can also scribe online (via a remotely located livestream) and in that case, we’ll need a short tech run prior to the event to test that everything is working.

We like to make things as straightforward and clear as possible!
